Draft genome sequence of Scedosporium minitisporum MUT 6113 (Ascomycota; Microascaceae): insights into safe biotechnological application.

The genus Scedosporium (Ascomycota, Microascales, Microascaceae) comprises species that show potential to degrade aliphatic and aromatic pollutants. Scedosporium minitisporum MUT 6113 was isolated from soil contaminated with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). MUT 6113 has been deposited at the Mycotheca Universitatis Taurinensis, University of Turin, Italy. Scedosporium minitisporum MUT 6113 is potentially useful in the mycoremediation of sites contaminated with hydrocarbons. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of S. minitisporum MUT 6113 (Mb: 42.4, GC %: 51.34, 11877 protein-coding sequences). The genome of MUT 6113 provided relevant information to understand the molecular basis of the degradation of hydrocarbons. Moreover, the potential virulence genes of S. minitisporum MUT 6113 have been investigated. Overall, the genome sequence of S. minitisporum MUT 6113 can give insights into safe biotechnological applications. The costs for the Next Generation Sequencing were supported by INAIL-DIT (PAR 2016-2018).
