Quarterly data on the liberalised market for long-distance coach services

The law for growth, activity and equal economic opportunities of 6 August 2015 liberalised the regular interurban transport of passengers by coach in France for any link exceeding 100 kilometres. The Transport Regulatory Authority (formerly Arafer) contributes to the proper functioning and observation of this market as a whole.

On the basis of data collected quarterly from operators, the Transport and Mobility Observatory of the Transport Regulatory Authority offers quarterly reviews of the activity (available on [the Authority’s website] (https://www.autorite-transports.fr/publications-Observatoire/)) to inform all stakeholders (public decision-makers, professionals in the sector, the media) and customers of these transport services.
The database contains the main supply and demand indicators as well as the economic and financial results. The database also contains detailed data on urban units served and routes marketed since the liberalisation of the sector (August 2015). These data are presented on a quarterly basis and updated every six months.
