County Transportation Profiles

These profiles consist of selected data related to transportation infrastructure as well as relevant census statistics that describe fundamental transportation patterns for countries and county-equivalents within the fifty States and District of Columbia. Infrastructure data shown here are derived from both geospatial and tabular datasets covering airports, maritime docks, rail tracks, and bridges. Dock, railway track, and bridge facilities were assigned to countries using available tabular attribute data whereas airports were assigned using a geospatial join, except for the case of Connecticut where all facilities were assigned via geospatial join due to the recent designation of nine planning regions as county equivalents by the US Census Bureau.
