Images and Report from a Historic Building Recording Survey at Gay Bowers Farm, Bakers Lane, West Hanningfield, Essex, November 2023

This collection comprises images and a report from a historic building recording survey of three buildings at Gay Bowers Farm, Bakers Lane, West Hanningfield, Essex. This work was undertaken by Colchester Archaeological Trust in November 2023. The buildings include a three-bay haybarn which probably dates to the late 18th-early 19th centuries, an early 19th century building currently being used as a stable block, and a modern lean-to. While the barn has remained relatively unchanged structurally, the stable block shows evidence of being reworked and was at least partially rebuilt during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
