资源简介:

This dataset contains raw data from a within-subjects laboratory study (N=24) investigating the effect of ARTV Ornamentation on media immersion and environmental awareness in a simulated passenger train context. ARTV Ornamentation refers to theme-matched digital augmentations spatially integrated into the viewer's surrounding environment during video consumption. The study examined two factors: Field of View (FOV; Low: 50°×40° approximating near-future optical see-through AR; High: 104°×98° approximating current passthrough AR) and Degree of Ornamentation (Low: 12 plant models; Medium: 55 plant models; High: 55 plant models with re-textured carriage surfaces), yielding six ARTV conditions alongside an AR Baseline and a VR Baseline (eight conditions total). Participants wore an Oculus Quest 2 headset and viewed clips from a nature documentary in a counterbalanced order using a Latin square design. After each condition, participants completed the Film Immersive Experience Questionnaire (Film-IEQ), the short-form User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ-S), the short-form User Engagement Scale (UES-SF), and two custom awareness items on a 5-point Likert scale. Following all conditions, participants completed a condition preference ranking and a semi-structured exit interview. Participants ranged in age from 20 to 60 (M=31.79, SD=10.87; 12 male, 12 female) and were compensated with a £10 Amazon voucher for a 75-minute session. The dataset comprises anonymised Qualtrics survey responses (CSV), anonymised interview transcripts (TXT; originally transcribed using WhisperX), and R analysis scripts. The study was approved by the University of Glasgow Ethics Committee. This dataset supports the findings reported in Chapter 4 of the associated PhD thesis: Balancing Media Immersion and Reality Awareness for Passengers through Augmented Reality TV Ornamentations, University of Glasgow.
