PFAS Impacts on Leaf Litter Decomposition in a Stream Ecosystem: Laboratory Mesocosm Experiment
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains data from a 28-day laboratory mesocosm experiment investigating the effects of perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) on aquatic leaf litter decomposition and microbial activity. Leaf packs were incubated in aquatic mesocosms dosed with varying concentrations of PFOS, and measurements were taken across the incubation period. The dataset is provided as a single .xlsx file containing four tabs: (1) PFOS concentrations in leaf and water samples, (2) net ecosystem production and community respiration, (3) percent mass remaining of leaf packs, and (4) ancillary water quality data including temperature, photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), dissolved oxygen (DO), dissolved organic carbon (DOC), and nutrient concentrations. These data can be used to evaluate the effects of PFAS contamination on organic matter processing and microbial activity in freshwater ecosystems, and may be of interest to researchers studying contaminant effects on stream ecosystem function, biogeochemical cycling, or microbial ecology. Use of this dataset requires citation of the associated publication and dataset.
