Characterization of nutritional and medicinal importance of truffle mushroom of Oman

This project aims to sequence and analyze the genome of the desert truffle, a highly valued gastronomic delicacy, in order to identify its genus and species and uncover its genetic structure and evolutionary background. The research will offer important insights into the biology and ecology of truffles, aiding efforts in truffle cultivation, conservation, and sustainable use. Additionally, the genomic data generated will contribute to the broader field of fungal genomics and deepen our understanding of symbiotic relationships in ecosystems.
