We sequenced the genome of Huntiella abstrusa, using both the PacBio (long-read) and Illumina (short-read) platforms in an effort to generate a high-quality draft genome sequence. This species is one of 31 Huntiella species, a saprobic genus in the greater Ceratocystidaceae family, which is notorious for harbouring a variety of significant plant pathogens. This genome is the 5th Huntiella genome to be published and will be used to continue the work currently being done on the sexual strategies and behaviours of the unique fungi in this genus.
