New members of Church of Sweden 2010-2022

In 2021, the number of people entering the Church of Sweden reached a record high 12,135. In 2022, almost 10,600 people entered the Swedish church, the second highest during the period under consideration. Apart from these two years, the number of people becoming members of the Church of Sweden only reached more than 10,000 in 2017, but has overall increased since 2010. This is despite the fact that the total share of Swedes who were members in the Church declined in recent years.The Church of Sweden is the largest Christian church in Sweden, and it was the state church between the years 1536 to 2000.
