Methane emission and nitrogen utilization of indigenous and improved Bovidae

This dataset contains compiled data on enteric methane (CH₄) emissions and nitrogen (N) utilization efficiency from a meta-analysis of studies on bovines fed exclusively with 100% forage-based diets (no concentrates). The data covers indigenous, crossbred, and improved bovine types. The dataset also includes original experimental data from yaks and indigenous cattle on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. Key parameters include methane emissions expressed per day, per unit of intake (DMI), per unit of metabolic body weight (BW⁰·⁷⁵), per unit of gain (ADG), and as a percentage of gross energy intake (Ym), alongside metrics for N utilization efficiency.
