Molecular markers for metabolic resistance to insecticides in Anopheles gambiae

The goal was to elucidate the genetic implications of metabolic resistance to pyrethroids in Anopheles gambiae through whole-genome sequencing and functional validation assays. We also investigated the impact of the resistance on the effectiveness of vector control tools. Mosquitoes were subjected to WHO tube bioassays with pyrethroid-based insecticides to select highly resistant and highly susceptible mosquitoes for comparison purposes.
