AKP meta-analysis dataset

This repository contains the dataset and R code used for the meta-analysis testing support for the Anna Karenina Principle (AKP) in animal microbiomes during non-bacterial infections. The dataset includes extracted information from published studies comparing infected and uninfected hosts, including alpha-diversity responses, beta-diversity dispersion (AKP support), host taxonomy, pathogen type (viral, fungal, or eukaryotic), microbiome compartment, and study characteristics.The accompanying R script reproduces all statistical analyses presented in the manuscript, including descriptive summaries, association tests, and visualization of AKP support across systems. The goal of this study is to assess whether infection-associated microbiome destabilization, defined as increased inter-individual variability, represents a general ecological pattern across animal hosts and pathogen types.
