Data for CNN_SDM_and_RF_for_Fish_2024

This dataset provides the input data and sample outputs used in the scripts of the GitHub repository CNN_SDM_and_RF_for_Fish_2024 (https://github.com/Beniofh/CNN_SDM_and_RF_for_Fish_2024), developed to reproduce the results of the species distribution models presented in the scientific article “From presence-only to abundance species distribution models using transfer learning” (https://doi.org/10.1111/ele.70177). It includes three ZIP archives: (1) inputs.zip, containing the core input data required to run most scripts, including environmental rasters for all fish count data, selected environmental variables for presence-only data, fish species tables (presence-only and abundance), and the trained model outputs used in the study (training metadata and model weights); (2) outputs.zip, providing example outputs generated by the scripts, some of which are required to run the scripts in the scr_metrics_and_figures folder of the GitHub repository; and (3) complementary_inputs.zip, offering additional input data needed for scripts requiring substantial computational resources, consisting mainly of full environmental rasters associated with presence-only fish data. This structure allows users with standard machines to run most workflows while enabling advanced users to reproduce the complete set of analyses.
