Responses to infectious pancreatic necrosis virus (IPNV) in the liver of Atlantic salmon

IPNV is a viral pathogen causing losses in commercial aquaculture of Atlantic salmon. This study was performed to examine transcriptomic responses to IPNV and to compare them with changes caused with other viruses. Salmon was smoltified with manipulation of photoperiod and challenged two weeks after seawater transfer. The i.p. injected shedders (20%) were placed in the tank. Liver was sampled before challenge and at 4, 6, 8 and 10 days post infection.
