XMM Observations of High Velocity Clouds in the Magellanic Stream

Recently, 3/4 keV Xrays were found near two High Velocity Clouds (HVCs). Wepropose to reexamine one of these regions, a cloud in the Magellanic Stream, andto extend the search to an additional cloud in the Magellanic Stream. If theseHVCs do not induce Xrays, then they can be used as shadows in a search forXrays from the warmhot intergalactic medium.
