Flavivirus Rapid Diagnostic Performance: A Scoping Review Data Repository (2000–2026)

Background: Flaviviruses represent a significant global health burden, yet the landscape of their Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs) is characterized by significant performance heterogeneity and research imbalance. Objective: To systematically map the global evidence on flavivirus RDT performance (2000–2026) and identify "research voids. Methods: Following PRISMA-ScR guidelines, 123 studies (163 evaluations) were synthesized using Python-based data normalization. Key Findings: Research is heavily skewed toward Dengue (DENV), with a complete absence of peer-reviewed RDT evaluations for Tick-borne Encephalitis Virus (TBEV). While specificity remains high (>95%), sensitivity is volatile (<20–100%), highlighting a critical need for standardized, high-sensitivity diagnostic architectures. Significance: This dataset provides a benchmark for the development of next-generation flavivirus diagnostics, particularly for under-represented pathogens like TBEV.
