Introductory Ecology Lab Showing Correlation Between Shoe Size and Hair Colour

Methods: Study took place in a university classroom under florescent lighting and at room temperature. Data was collected by first dividing students into five groups of four and then groups through oral survey collected data on both hair colour and shoe size. Data was first recorded by hand into a notebook and then imputed into an excel spreadsheet. Data collection and entry was completed in approximately twenty minuets. Note: T.A. was also surveyed providing twenty-one surveyed subjects. Hypothesis: There will be a correlation between hair colour and shoe size because both are caused by genetics. Predictions:1) As hair gets darker shoe size will get bigger. 2) As shoe size decreases hair will get lighter. 3) Number of shoe sizes related to infrequently occurring hair colours will be lower than those related to frequently occurring hair colours.
