Dataset of accelerometer measurements during PE by gender
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains accelerometer-based measurements of physical activity collected from middle school students during Physical Education (PE) lessons in France in 2024 and 2025. It aims to explore gender differences in moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) during various types of PE activities, considering contextual factors such as the socioeconomic status and geographic location of schools. The data include time spent in different activity intensities (sedentary behavior, light, moderate, vigorous), total recorded time, and demographic variables (age, gender, height, weight). It also contains school-level information such as socioeconomic position index, geographic area (urban or rural), and socio-professional categories of parents. Data were collected in 12 schools (27 classes) and include detailed epoch-level accelerometer data as well as aggregated activity summaries. Alongside the dataset, the R script used for data analysis and visualization is provided to ensure reproducibility of the results. This dataset supports the findings presented in the article currently under review at the Journal of Sport Sciences.
