资源简介:
The Indian major carp Labeo rohita (Hamilton), a Cyprinid is leading candidate species for freshwater aquaculture not only in India but also in the whole sub-continent of South-East Asia. Labeo rohita are the focus of a vast amount of research due to their immense economic, ecological and cultural importance. However, a major problem with this species is that it breeds in river conditions only once in a year during monsoon months and cannot be bred in confined pond water without hormonal induction, poor utilizer of carbohydrate for energy purpose, having very low level of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) / docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in meat and with lower survival (av.>30%) of spawn. Therefore, an attempt was taken using Illumina mRNA-seq of selectively pooled RNA samples of Brain, Liver, Intestine, Kidney, Tongue, Nose, Eye, Gill, Muscle, Heart, Ovary and Testis tissues to identify genes of these tissues.
