2023年の日本の1世帯当たり平均所得金額は約517万円で、前年に比べてやや減少しました。
賃金の伸び悩みと地域間での所得格差
世帯所得とは、15歳以上の同一の生計を立てる世帯人員全員の年間所得を合算したもので、親族関係に関係なく算出されます。2023年の平均世帯人員は2.22人であったのに対し、1世帯あたりの働き手は1.05人程度にとどまっています。時系列で見ると、ここ10年で平均所得が停滞していることが分かります。しかし、東京や名古屋では所得が増加しているのに対し、奈良や香川など他の多くの地域では所得が増えていないなど、地域格差があるのが特徴です。
日本の幸福度
家計所得や1人当たりの平均所得と一緒に引き合いに出されることが多い1世帯当たりの平均所得は、国の生活水準や国民1人ひとりの豊かさを示す経済指標として活用できます。幸福度という点では、日本の状況は他のOECD（経済協力開発機構）諸国と比較してみても複雑な状況です。労働市場が安定しており、雇用率も高いことから、一見すると日本は他のOECD諸国と比較して好調なパフォーマンスを見せている印象ですが、平均所得や世帯当たりの純調整可処分所得ではOECDの平均を下回っています。
