These files are directly mirrored from the Genome Taxonomy DataBase (https://gtdb.ecogenomic.org/downloads) but were required by the publisher to be made available via a stable and permanent URL in the form of a DOI. These files were used in the analyses in our manuscript (preprint: 10.1101/2025.03.17.643616, workflow for the manuscript). gtdb_proteins_aa_reps_r214.tar.gz contains all protein sequences predicted by Prodigal for all representatives bacterial genomes of version r214 of GTDB bac120_metadata_r214.tar.gz contains the full metadata table for all genomes present in the version r214 of GTDB
