Primary energy consumption in South Korea 2021-2023, by fuel

Primary energy consumption in South Korea decreased by nearly four percent in 2023, when compared to the previous year. Oil was by far the most used energy source in the country, accounting for over 84 percent of the total primary energy consumption that year. This was followed by coal and natural gas. By comparison, renewable energies were the least used source.
