Metagenomic Profiling of Microbial Communities in Malaysian Drinking Water Reservoirs

This project investigates the bacterial community structure in four freshwater reservoirs used for drinking water supply across Peninsular Malaysia. Using shotgun metagenomic sequencing, the study aims to comprehensively characterize the taxonomic and functional diversity of bacterial communities. The analysis will examine potential variations linked to environmental conditions and anthropogenic activities. The resulting data will enhance our understanding of bacterial ecology in surface water sources and support efforts toward effective water quality monitoring and management.
