DNA methylation profiling of circulatory monocytes in community-acquired pneumonia

In this study, we sought to broaden our understanding of circulatory monocyte functions captured during the acute (on hospital admission) and recovery (one-month follow-up) stages of patients diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). Overall design: Examination of DNA methylation in circulating CD14+ monocytes obtained from CAP patients on hospital admission (CAP), from the same patients after one month recovery (CAPD28), and age, gender, and comorbidity-matched control participants (HV).
