Statistics of Salinity in 1 degree Mesh

This product is a vertical array summary of statistical analyses (by month in 1 degree versus depth) of salinity data from serial station data in the Japan adjacent seas. The data used are for 1906 to 1994. A screen shows statistics of a month at a level in 11 degrees by 11 degrees in latitude and longitude around the selected point. It includes mean value (upper) and number of samples (lower) in the grid. Maximum and minimum values and standard deviation for the grid indicated by red square are also displayed below the map. The statistical month (12 months) and level (IAPSO levels) are selective. Data in these files are available as copies of specified data subsets on magnetic tapes, floppy disks, CD-ROMs or printed form.
