Silver ion is proposed as biocide to treat the water in NASA’s next generation of human space exploration vehicles/habitats. Here, two analytical methods were developed to address the need to monitor silver levels in the water. In addition to silver, other inorganic cations frequently found in the ISS potable water were analyzed.
