Trios for horn, violin and continuo/piano : the players, their influence and their competency

This paper focuses on investigating how composers in the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries utilized the horn's properties and associated techniques when writing for the instrument as part of an ensemble consisting of horn, violin and continuo/piano.
