Geological map of Bavaria 1:25.000 (GK25)

The Geological Map of Bavaria 1:25.000 (GK25) is the product of the printed GK25, the corresponding data correspond to the status of the respective printed map sheet. This status is no longer up-to-date compared to the actively maintained database of the digital geological map of Bavaria (dGK25).
The geological map of Bavaria 1:25.000 shows the geological construction of the landscape of Bavaria. The loose and solid rocks on the terrain surface are reproduced in the map image (surface map). It shows the distribution and storage of the rocks. Among other things, the map forms a basis for assessing the formation of soil, the subsoil, the water supply, the distribution of usable loose and solid rocks, the possible range of environmental damage and the protective function of the subsoil. The map contains point, line and area themes. For each map sheet, an explanatory volume with earth and landscape history, rock description, stratigraphy and tectonics is created. Further data (manuscript cards) can be obtained from the LfU data centre for a fee.
