Working Conditions for Engineering Workshop Employees, 1994

A work environment survey for employees within the workshop industry was conducted the spring of 1994. The survey was conducted by Statistics Norway on assignment for the Directorate of the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority. Similar surveys were also conducted for employees in kindergartens and in companies within the transport, handling and storing of gods, cargo, waste and the like.

The background for this survey was that working life had undergone some significant changes the last couple of years. The purpose of the survey was to illustrate how these changes have influenced working conditions in defined areas of working life, and includes questions concerning salary and employment conditions, working environment, management and health. The results from this survey were used in connection with the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority's further commitments within environment, health and safety.
