Airborne LiDAR Point Cloud Density and Cartographic Scale: Dataset for 10 Study Areas in Greece and Cyprus (COASTLINE Project)
收藏资源简介:
This dataset supports the study "Revisiting airborne LiDAR point cloud density & scale: Requirements for scale-consistent 3D cartographic products." It contains airborne/drone LiDAR-derived data used to investigate the relationship between 3D point cloud density and achievable cartographic scale across 10 study areas of varying topography, geomorphology, and land cover in Greece and Cyprus (including Eresos, Gavathas, Vatera, Larsos, Vrisa, Evergetoulas, Pinios, Plaka, Petounta, and Mavrokolymbos). The dataset includes the processed 3D point clouds and per-cell density rasters (1 m × 1 m grid), together with the derived spatial variables used in the analysis (point density, point spacing, vertical angle to flightpath, intensity, and roughness), the theoretical vs. actual density comparison tables, and the flight/acquisition parameters for each area. These data were used to quantify deviations between theoretically required and actual point densities and to assess their impact on cartographic scale and 3D geovisualization. Data were acquired with drone-mounted LiDAR sensors and processed as described in the associated manuscript. The dataset is intended to enable replication of the reported results and to support further research on LiDAR data-acquisition protocols for scale-consistent 3D cartographic products.
