Purpose: Joint function is impaired by disuse. We investigated mice synovium for control and MMS(minimized mechanical stress) model mice. Method: We developed a MMS model which could represent the disused joint by combining non-weight bearing with tail suspension and knee joint immobilization with a plastic cylinder. We obtained synovial cells from control and MMS day14 mice. Conclusion: Specific subsets in MMS synovium expressed many secreted proinflammatory cytokines and are thought to be the tragger of cartilage degeneration..
