4,428,945 point features representing centroid locations for oblique aerial imagery captured as part of Kentucky's KYAPED (Kentucky Aerial Photography and Elevation Data) Phase 3 collection program, a component of the KyFromAbove statewide imagery initiative. The dataset spans three collection years: 2023 (2,464,925 images), 2024 (1,927,325 images) 2022 (36,695 images) The majority of imagery was captured during Season 1, Spring (4,068,655 images), with additional collection in Season 2, Fall (360,290 images). Each point represents the center location of an individual aerial photograph, with flight lines running in alternating North and South directions (approximately 2.2 million images each). The dataset includes imagery from five camera positions on each aircraft: Color (885,789) – nadir/vertical view Forward (Fwd) and Backward (Bwd) (885,789 each) – oblique views along the flight line Left and Right (885,789 each) – oblique views perpendicular to the flight path Camera directions are recorded as North, South, East, or West based on the aircraft's heading, enabling users to select imagery with specific viewing angles for a location. The data encompasses 2,553 unique flight lines with 3-inch resolution imagery. Key attributes include filename, flight date and time, flight line ID, shot ID, collection year and season, and a direct S3 URL link to access each image from the KyFromAbove cloud storage. This index layer enables efficient discovery and retrieval of oblique imagery for applications including infrastructure inspection, change detection, emergency response, and detailed site analysis across Kentucky.
