MK375 Recorded by Subardi, head of the National Museum in Jayapura, in 1979 who gave permission for it to be digitised in MAMU. Collected by Margaret Kartomi in 1991. Side A Music of the Suku-suku Awyu, Mandobo and Yair, in Tanah Merah, Kabupaten Merauke. Songs and dance of the YOKWIN ceremony to welcome perantau/newcomers living in their area. Also, Songs and dance of the KETMON ceremony to welcome guests. Side B Music of the Nabiri people of the Suku Ekari ethnic group in Kecamatan Enarotali, Kabupaten Paniai (living in the mountains in from the north coast, not far from Jayapura) and the Suku Wandamen people (living somewhat inland in central Irian Jaya). Songs and dance of the Pesta YUWO (meaning babi/pig) ceremony at which a wild pig is slaughtered and the meat may be sold to those present. Adolescent men and women meet and perform, and may marry after the parents negotiate a bride price.
