aThe purified recombinant enzyme (0.1 µg/assay) was incubated with various substrates in a reaction system at 40°C and repeated in triplicates. bKm values for each substrate were determined with six concentrations of substrate and six concentrations of cofactor. For oxidation reaction, Km for NADP+ was calculated from reactions using D-glycerate as substrate. For reduction reaction, Km for NADH was calculated from reactions using tartronic semialdehyde as substrate.
