In June 2019, Dr. Gildas Sidobre of NRHK completed terrestrial photogrammetry of two Naniwa-Sumiyoshi-style komainu located at the Sanja Jinja shrine in Osaka, Japan. The photographs were taken with a Samsung NX500 mirrorless camera. Built sometime around 1780, this pair of komainu are situated at the main entrance of the Sanja Jinja shrine, in Osaka, Japan. The two sculptures flank Sanja Jinja????????s main entryway (the torii), which would classify them as sando komainu. Sometimes referred to as lion-dogs External Project Link: \N Additional Info Link:
