Whole genome sequencing of Xiangnan cattle

Xiangnan cattle is one of the main fine local yellow cattle breeds in Hunan Province, mainly produced in the hilly area of Nanling Mountain, distributed in the southwestern Hunan, Xiangzhong, Xiangdong and adjacent parts of Guangdong and Gan. This breed has a long history, and has gradually formed its own genetic characteristics under the combined effect of long-term breeding and natural ecological conditions of the production area. Xiangnan cattle breeding performance, resistance to rough feeding, adaptability, tender meat, is the development of China's subtropical mountainous areas of the cattle industry of the better genetic resources. In order to further evaluate, protect, develop and utilise the Xiangnan cattle, an important genetic resource of yellow cattle, this study collected ear tissue samples from Xiangnan cattle, extracted DNA for whole genome resequencing and performed whole genome analysis on them.
