Soil hydrothermal dynamics under varying surface covers

This dataset supports a study on the effects of surface cover on shallow soil hydrothermal dynamics. It includes time-series data collected from outdoor soil tank experiments under three treatments: bare soil, turf vegetation, and biochar-amended soil. Parameters monitored include soil temperature, volumetric water content, and matric suction at multiple depths. The dataset also contains numerical simulation results from a finite element model, including spatiotemporal outputs of moisture and heat distribution. These data can be used to analyze coupled infiltration–evaporation–heat transfer processes and validate hydrothermal models.
