Microbial diversity in rhizosphere soil

Thanks to next generation sequencing techniques such as amplicon pyrosequencing, microbial diversity can be studied to an unprecedented degree. Given the importance of soil and especially of the rhizosphere for plant growth and biogeochemical cycles, the aim of the study is to determine the microbial diversity present in rhizosphere soil.
