Lactobacillus acidophilus La-14. ATCC SD-5212 is a Gram-positive lactic acid bacterium of human origin which has the ability to survive in the GIT. Additionally, it has demonstrated ability to adhere to human epithelial cells and inhibit selected pathogens in vitro. It is commercially available from DuPont Nutrition and Health for food and dietary supplement applications.
