Metabarcoding with 16S and COI rRNA gene of sediments involved in the digestive processes of three tropical sea cucumber species for Holomicro project, 2019

The goals of this study are: (1) to explore the diversity and spatio-temporal variability of bacteria in the sediment of Reunion Island reefs and how it can explain the patchy distribution observed for three deposit-feeding sea cucumber species (H. atra, H. leucospilota and S. chloronotus), and, (2) to detect the main bacteria ingested and assimilated by these three sea cucumber species at the finest taxonomic level.
