Population genetics in Syntrichia caninervis

To better understand population structure and diversity in an important desert biocrust moss, six populations of Syntrichia caninervis were sampled from varying environments in the Mojave and Colorado Deserts. We used double-digest RAD sequencing to generate genotypic data for 180 individuals of S. caninervis. These data will allow us to test the relative importance of ecotypic specialization, stochastic drift, and anthropogenic disturbance in structuring the genetic diversity of S. caninervis in the western United States.
