The spatial dataset concerns the monitoring of early detection of radioactive contamination, which is carried out as part of the ionizing radiation monitoring subsystem of the State Environmental Monitoring. The goal of monitoring is 24-hour measurements of gamma radiation and radioactivity of air aerosols and total precipitation in the network of early detection of radioactive contamination of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management - PIB for the assessment of the radiation situation in Poland. The network for early detection of radioactive contamination of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management - PIB includes 9 measuring stations and is part of the country's radiation situation assessment system, coordinated by the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency. The measurement results obtained within the network are used for current assessment of the degree of radioactive contamination of the atmosphere in the country and for early warning of the public against radiation danger. The measurement program for the network of radioactive contamination detection stations provides for the following measurements: continuous measurement of the gamma radiation dose rate in air at a height of 1m from the ground with registration of hourly and daily average values; continuous radioactivity measurement of air aerosol samples; measurements of global beta activity of daily and monthly total precipitation samples; spectrometric measurements of Cs-137 activity and selected natural gamma-radioactive isotopes in aggregate samples of monthly total precipitation; radiochemical determination of Sr-90 in aggregate samples of monthly total precipitation.
