Data set for holistic evaluation of involute gear surfaces using 3D point cloud inversion

All files are column-based flat files, using whitspaces as separator (fixed width), and can be viewed by standard text-editors.The files contain simmulated 3D gear surface measurements in Carthesian coordiates (x,y,z) in mm. Additionaly, the probing vecor/surface normal vector (u,v,w) in mm is indicated. Five gear tooth have been modeled as described in the corresponding article Przyklenk et al 2024 Eng. Res. Express https://doi.org/10.1088/2631-8695/ad2241. The files contain data of one single tooth each, consisting of the simulated measurement of the left gear flank, that is composed of 41 profile lines with 200 points per profile, followed by data that describe the right gear flank in the same way.Each data set consists of 2 x 8200 data points, representing the left and right flank respectively.
