A bilingual dataset for testing web probing in the US and India: The example of measures of environmental change

To assess the feasibility of web probing in India, we conducted an online survey containing different probing questions in India and the US on the topic of environmental concern. The survey was available in English in both countries and in Hindi in India. The data was collected from December 2022 until May 2023 using the crowdsourcing platform Amazon MTurk. This resulted in 512 respondents from the US and 739 from India (English: 386 respondents, Hindi: 353 respondents). The data provides crucial insights into the performance of web probing outside the Western context and the comparability of measures of environmental concern.为评估印度地区开展网络探查（web probing）的可行性，本研究围绕环境关注主题，于印度与美国境内实施了包含多组探查问题的在线调研。本次调研在两国均提供英文版本，印度境内额外提供印地语版本。数据采集工作于2022年12月至2023年5月期间开展，依托众包平台亚马逊土耳其机器人（Amazon MTurk）完成。最终共回收美国受访者样本512份、印度受访者样本739份（其中英文版本对应受访者386名，印地语版本对应受访者353名）。该数据集可为西方语境之外的网络探查应用效果，以及环境关注维度测量的可比性分析提供关键研究洞见。
