Evolution of recombination landscapes in percomorph fishes

The core objectives of this project are: a) to resolve how the localisation of recombination, and especially of hotspots change over evolutionary times in cichlids and other groups of percomorphs; b) to investigate the patterns and potential causes of these evolutionary changes; c) to explore the link between variation in recombination rates and scans for positive and divergent selection, supporting studies of adaptation and speciation.
