In 2023, the average retail price for a pack of clove cigarettes, or kretek, in Indonesia was around 20,652 Indonesian rupiah. In January 2020, the Indonesian government increased the excise duty for cigarettes and tobacco products to tackle the high prevalence of smoking in the country.
