Size 91/4 in. by 51/4 in.; foll. 72. Twenty-two lines in a page. A Fragment of a Commentary on Ibn Jazarî’s المقدّمة by ‘Alî B. SULṬÂN Muḥammad Ḳâri’ (Harawî, d. A. H. 1014). This Commentary is not mentioned anywhere. It begins: .الحمدلله الذی اودع جواهر المعانی الضیائیة، قوالبَ زواهر المبانی من الحروف الهجائیة The author says afterwards (fol. 1v): ان المقدمة المنسوبة للعلامة ..... الجزری، قدس الله سرّه السریّ، ما رایت لها شرحا کاملا، بین (sic) بیانا شاملاً یکون لتحقیق الحقائق کافلاً فسخ ببالی ان اضع علیها شرحا معتدلاً لا مختصرا مخلّاً ولا مطولّا مملّاً فاقول و بالله التوفیق الخ. There are defects after foll. 24 and 48; the last fol. ends with the commentary on the words: الا بفتح او بنصب. Somewhat injured by damp. Catal. P. 234, iv.
