BIS Consolidated Banking Statistics (CBS) is a database maintained by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) that measures international banking activities from a nationality-based perspective. This database captures the global claims of banking groups headquartered in reporting countries, excluding intra-group positions, and provides multiple metrics for measuring the country risk exposures of these banking groups. The core benchmark indicator of CBS is foreign claims, which records the credit exposure of banking groups to borrowers outside their home countries.
