Share of hotels in Portuguese regions 2021, by owner origin

According to a 2021 study, hotel properties were predominantly owned by domestic companies across all regions of Portugal. This is especially true in the Açores region, where 99 percent of hotels were owned by domestic companies. On the other hand, the region of Lisboa had the largest share of foreign investment, with 19 percent of establishments belonging to foreign firms.
