Nigeria (2009): Assessing the Quality of Family Planning Services Using Client Exit interview Study

The Society for Family Health (SFH) Nigeria through the Women's Health Project has been providing the longer term methods (LTM) of family planning such as Intra-Uterine Contraceptive Devices (IUCDs) and Implants to women of reproductive age in 21 states in the six geo political zones of Nigeria. The goal of Women's Health Project (WHP) is to improve reproductive health and reduce unintended pregnancies both of which are aimed at improving maternal and child health. Improving the quality of family planning sevices is intended to increase service uptake and utilization. An exit interview study was adopted to assess the quality of services offered to clients in Women's Health project partner facilities. The goal of the exit interviews was to measure the effectiveness of the provider trainings and monitor the quality of services provided to clients seeking family planning services.
